My modem's config page could be accessed by typing "http://launchmodem" (no .com), but I had to add an entry to my HOSTS file in order to use that when I was behind the router. Using the modem's IP address always works, though, of course. Thanks for commenting and good luck.

nice summary. I would like to do this for no other reason than the 'side benefit' you mention. Ever since Verizon started installing FIOS in my area, my dsl service has periodically been dropping out, for a couple days at a time. To make sure it's not a router issue, I go through the process a connecting directly to the modem, switching modes, etc., just to verify that my router's not the problem. This will make some of that go a lot smoother.

I can only speak for myself as a Young Earth Creationist, but IMO it takes more faith to believe in evolution than in a Creator.

For example, when I see a Jaguar, I don't see a car that came about by chance, but by design, as evidenced in the many complex systems that must work together for the vehicle to function. You take away one system, or parts of that system, and you don't have a working car.

So as I look around at the complexity, interconnectedness, and order in the universe, I see incredible intelligence and power, and not billions of years of maybe-it-kinda-sorta-happened-like-this. And good science does not contradict the concept of creation, it reinforces as the only truly viable option.

Why are evolutionists so afraid that there is a Creator that they will distort data and perpetuate falsehoods to maintain their theory as scientific? It is just as faith-based as Creation when it comes right down to it.

Thank you for concerning towards the global warming. Well, a climatologist Drew Shindell from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, told everyone that they should be looking at the GHGs (green house gases) when they are emitted at Earth's surface, and not at the GHGs themselves after they have been mixed into the atmosphere.

Enjoyed your post. I was planning to vote for Edwards and I was very disappointed he didn't get the support he needed to stay in the primary.

I think it stinks that some states get to decide who stays in the primary. MS really doesn't have a say in the primaries. By the time we hold ours our vote doesn't matter. After all I can't vote for the person I wanted to support "Edwards", as he has already dropped out. All primaries should be held on the same day so every state has an equal voice.

On the 29th I was cowering in my house with my daughters as, first, the power went off; then, the chimney disintegrated into a jumble of bricks which fell down the roof; and at last an enormous old pecan tree was uprooted near the back door. Within three days I'd lost my best friend whose injuries were a direct result of the storm, and my own life had changed forever, like the lives of those unfortunate people on the MS coast and in LA. You never forget.

I am so glad you have had a chance to read the book. I can't wait to get my copy of it (It'll probably be Tuesday before I have a chance to pick it up at Wal-mart and then I'll have to FIGHT to keep two boys from taking it away from me). I did listen to JK read the first chapter online, nothing surprising in the first chapter as far as I could see although I was told I was suppose to be shocked.

My big theory is that Dumbledore is alive. There are two possible ways this could happen.

1.) Dumbledore's death was staged by Dumbledore and Snape. This is what I believe happened.

2.) I read on another website that Dumbledore had created a horcruxe for himself and that was how he knew so much about them.

I agree with you about the pairings and the list of who will live and who will die. Although I hope we are wrong about Hagrid. I really like the big guy.

It reminds me of the song they paved over paradise to put up a parking lot.

We keep getting wider roads that we really don't need. Yes, there is heavy traffic on them early in the morning and late in the evenings when people are going to and from work, the rest of the time they are practically empty.

And since Katrina there has been more and more development down here, with little regard to if it is swamp land. Even before Katrina this was happening. Up above our house a developers sold off small lots in what was essentially wetlands. Peoples septic tanks are failing because of this and the same thing happened in an area of Ocean Springs.

    Unfortunately, it is working.

And it seems that the governors are dealing with the fallout from it -- in ways that do not benefit their constituents. The potential disaster with Blanco unless she swallows her pride, and the ugly fact that Barbour has the Mississippi press covering for him.

Whenver I expressed frustration at the abysmal pace of "recovery" for the stricken area, my husband would say, "That's because Bush and his pals want to buy up all that real estate and move the poor people to somewhere else."

I thought he was being a bit paranoid. Silly me.

By now, it's unmistakeable. It's the plan, it's been put into action and, let's face it, it's working.
